The musical is designed to be set in the midst of an old multi-levelled scrapyard, piled with vehicles, old fencing and rubbish. This enables ingenious exits and entrances, eg up through a pile of tyres, out the back of a van or down from a higher level into the 'pit' or playing area. Flashback scenes use the set in an abstract way, changing time and place in an instant through lighting and the score. Levels and climbing rungs are important to help with the sense of suspense and scenes where someone is being intimidated.
